Crime rate in Poland

In Poland in 2020, 786.302 crimes were recorded, and their detectability increased by 73.9%. Poland is among the leaders in Europe in terms of security and low crime rate. Among the least safe cities in Poland are Wrocław, Poznań, Katowice and Wałbrzych. Still the crime rate remains low due to Poland’s high economic development allowing for easy jobs and relatively cheap households.

Homelessness in Poland

There is no precise information about the scale of homelessness in Poland at the moment. The number of homeless people is estimated at 30,000 to 300,000. The only source of knowledge in this area is the number of people who have been formally helped by social welfare centres. Statistically, there are over 43,000 homeless people in Poland. It’s statistic, because this data is obtained only from shelters. In fact there are many more homeless people in various types of wild shelters or gardens who are mostly alcoholics.

Causes of homelessness: failure to provide homeless people with activation to achieve independence in life by the authorities, unemployment, poverty, family breakdown, addiction, domestic violence, debt and eviction, personality disorders.
